The Netherlands(Part 3)

Paris
After a few more hours on the road, we finally arrived in Paris. Tu’s family were originally from Vietnam, and so were her relatives in France. As such, the first place we headed for was the 13th Quarters, the Vietnamese district of Paris, where we had a great Vietnamese meal. We spent the night at Tu’s cousin’s place and the next day, we went on a driving tour of Paris.

The one thing which all tourists to Paris never missed is of course, the Eiffel Tower. We chose the cheapo method of seeing the tower, i.e. taking pictures from outside instead of spending a bomb to go up the tower.
We walked around the grounds of the Louvre Museum, the world’s most visited art museum, located on the right bank of the Seine River. This place was originally the palace, but now houses more than 400 000 art pieces.
Of course, we took in other sights too. Like Notre-Dame de Paris, Arc de Triomphe, Avenue des Champs-Elysees and Le Sacre-Coeur (The White Church) etc.
I took the chance to catch up with Didi, whom I met during my trip to Japan, over a cup of tea too. It’s been two years since we last met. Really thankful to Tu’s parents for suggesting this trip, or else it will be ages before I can meet up with Didi.
I cut my hair real short before I set off on this trip, but three months on, the hair has grown into a mess. Tu wanted a haircut too, so we decided to get our hair cut in a salon in 13th Quarters. My hairdresser was actually from China and he did a great job on my hair. It made Tu’s mom regret not joining us for the haircut. I was expecting the haircut to be really expensive, but it turned out to be only 22 Euros. On top of that, Tu insisted on paying on my behalf, so essentially, I got a free haircut. But I forgot to take pictures again, so no before-and-after pictures here.
