Hungary(Part 3)

Keszthely
My last stop in Hungary is a city in the west Keszthely. This being a lakeside city naturally attracts loads of tourists. Of course, this being October, it was too cold to be swimming or boating on the lake, so the town and lakeside was pretty much dead when I was there.
There is actually a palace here, but having seen many palaces already, I had no wish to pay to see another. So it is just taking pictures from outside for me.
At the end of the main street, I found an interesting restaurant. The restaurant owner is obviously a huge fan of Italian football club AS Roma, with the restaurant being named Roma restaurant and the insides of the restaurant full of Roma’s biblical. From scarves to flags to jerseys to trophies, everything just screams “AS Roma”. Needless to say, the television was showing one of Roma’s match when I was there.
Another reason why Keszthely attracts so many tourists is that it is located right next to a thermal lake. One just has to take a 15 minute bus ride, and you will come upon the thermal lake town Heviz. The water in Heviz Lake has an average temperature of 28 to 32 degrees. As such, even in the middle of winter, you will find people swimming in the lake. This being a thermal lake, the water contains a lot of minerals which is said to have some medicinal value, hence you find quite a lot of senior citizens relaxing here. If swimming outdoors in the middle of winter is not your cup of tea, you can swim in the bath house right smack in the middle of the lake. The bath house is built such that there are steps leading down to the lake water, with little doors and plastic walls separating the waters, such that the waters within the bath house is warmer than that outside.
